GADCHIROLI:
A vision to provide world-class educational opportunities to talented youth from Gadchiroli is beginning to bear fruit, with Ignatius Prakash Bada, a young man from the remote village of Bande, successfully completing his Master’s degree at Australia’s prestigious Curtin University.

Ignatius completed his Master’s in Innovation and Entrepreneurship under the Curtin University Sponsorship Programme initiated through the Lloyds Infinite Foundation, the CSR arm of Lloyds Metals & Energy Limited.

After completing his higher education in Australia, Ignatius has returned to his homeland and joined Lloyds Metals & Energy Limited (LMEL) as a Management Trainee, marking a significant milestone in his professional journey.

The achievement is being seen as a major success for the vision of B. Prabhakaran, Managing Director of Lloyds Metals & Energy Limited, who had pledged in 2023 to create global educational opportunities for talented local youth and enable them to contribute to the development of their home region.

Coming from a modest family of seven in Bande village near the Surjagarh iron ore mining area, Ignatius’ journey is particularly inspiring. His mother Sarita works as an Anganwadi helper, while his father Prakash is a farmer.

For a young man from such a background, studying abroad seemed like a distant dream. However, the sponsorship programme provided comprehensive support, including tuition fees, accommodation, travel and daily living expenses.

Ignatius described his journey from Bande to Perth as a life-changing experience and expressed gratitude to B. Prabhakaran for providing him with the opportunity to pursue his dream.

B. Prabhakaran said that Ignatius’ achievement was not merely an individual success but a matter of pride for the entire Gadchiroli district. He emphasised that the objective of the initiative was to equip local youth with global exposure and encourage them to return and contribute to the development of their own region.

With Ignatius becoming the first successful beneficiary of the sponsorship programme, his achievement has emerged as a powerful source of inspiration for students across Gadchiroli.

From a remote village to an international university and back to his homeland as a professional, Ignatius Bada’s journey stands as a testament to B. Prabhakaran’s vision of turning local talent into global achievers.
