Bhawanipur: The Lloyds Sports Academy Football Team secured the Runners-Up (2nd Position) in the prestigious Bhawanipur Jagadish Dhali Smriti All India Football Tournament.
A total of 34 teams participated in the tournament. Lloyds Sports Academy defeated Devnagar Team 1–0 in the Quarter-Final and progressed to the Semi-Final, where they defeated Bilashpur Team from Chhattisgarh 5–4 on penalties.
In the Final, Lloyds Sports Academy faced Harinagar Team from Kolkata. After a closely contested match, the team lost 3–4 on penalties, finishing as the Runners-Up of the tournament.
Securing the 2nd position among 34 teams at an All India-level tournament is a remarkable achievement for Lloyds Sports Academy. The team’s dedication, hard work, discipline and strong teamwork played a key role in this success.
The tournament was graced by Shri Prashant Bhau Kuttarmare, Zilla Parishad President & Chief Guest; Shri Sanjiv Sarkar, Former Gram Panchayat Sarpanch; Shri M. S. Sarkar, Principal, RNT High School, Bhawanipur; and Shri J. D. Dey, Principal, NSC High School & Junior College, who extended their valuable support and congratulations to the team.
